Estimated delivery date 04 - 24th of Feb
Apparently its coming from somewhere I've never heard of post code DE ?
Still the way things are going I won't be ready for it then anyway - got tomorrow afternoon off though so watch it bucket down

No, oddly enough no problems there
it's more to do with the colour

Hi Shrew,
I've bought some ICE but spent a few wasted days trying to find someone who good do it at my house.
Closest I got was a bloke 25 miles away who would take it on as long as I bought the ICE from him
Then he told me he only does Alpine gear and the cheapest head unit he sold was £800
Lucky enough though I got talking to a bloke who fabricates are steel benches ect for work and he happens to know a "man you can" and is willing to pick it up on a trailer and take it to his unit.
Even better he only charges £25.00 + vat an hour
I have refitted the dash so he can cut out the hole for the double Din head unit, and while I'm waiting for him to clear some room, I'm cleaning and prime / painting the pedal box, servo, wiper motor etc to fit in.
When the ICE is finished there is a paint shop over the road from him that I'll probably get to tidy up the paint that "mr X" did and then get the bumpers, grill etc that are now the wrong colour done at the same time.
IF this is all done before your ready I can continue to fit all the interior so all that will be left is the engine / box and the exhaust
Not too sure if you'll get her running or I just get you to ship her straight to Dave at mech sport??
What do you think ??

It sounds like you have you hands full mate!
it just concerned me tad that the exhaust appointment is only march 10th, and the engine and box will need hanging into the car for us to build off, but it won't be very practical for us to do that if the car comes back to us the night before kind of thing,
i was just wary of the time mate, and wasn't entirely sure what jobs you were doing to it before we had it back, that all.
should we put the exhaust appointment forward a bit?

March 10th sounds ages away
Don't worry Shrew book your trailer for how long before then you think you need to drop the lump in and you can pick her up in any state she's in - I'd rather stick to a slightly longer date and have her "lying around" than get you to bring it forward and have to rush things.
What do you think - pick her up on March 5th the day after pancake day??

Now would probably be a good time, whilst your all discussing the "chocolate lime" contrasting colours of the bodywork, to introduce you all to the busy end of things.
This morning i managed to get the block back onto my adapted and largely home made engine stand, so i could continue rebuilding it, ready for hanging in for building the exhaust soon.
for those of you who missed out on earlier stages of Harvey's car thread, to bring you up to speed with this bit at least, we are rebuilding here a 1712cc 8v, cleaned up throats and ports, and a set of Holbay fast road cams with vernier pulleys.
Whilst ripped down, i balanced the rod/piston sets, crank, clutch, and my own lightened flywheel, all as individual components, and then as a lined assembly.
heres a few pics of flywheel, from left to right, stock (still with clutch attached), then a BLS fast Road flywheel, and then my own
taking a que from the BLS design, i stamped it up for Top dead centre, and then increments of 10/20/30 and 40 degrees advance.
and once this was in, i carried on with rebuilding the rest of the motor, to the point where i realised the cam belt kit included the wrong belts! 2 teeth too long!
so this is where we got to, although the brand new 40's are mostly on top as a dust guard for now!
