Re: Harry P
Thanks for the welcome!
As usual for me, it was a bit of a spur of the moment purchase and only after buying it did I start to do some intensive reading and research.
It’s not my first Italian, I had a delta integrale as a daily driver back In the early 2000s when they were affordable, unfortunately when it spun a big end I had to take a serious look at it and realised that along with the rampant rust it was uneconomical to repair and beyond my capabilities.
I’ve been mainly on German stuff since then, but have bought three Italians in the last couple of years.
A mito Multiair 135 as my daily runabout, a 1969 fiat 850 saloon which my uncle parked in a barn in the early 70s after crashing it into a wall, and last month the sud, which I’m trying to use as much as is sensible until they start throwing salt on the roads.

I think we can all agree Italian cars are like that . Once bitten you rarely recover fully. It’s like an itch you just have to scratch.
Enjoy the forum and don’t be shy .

Re: Harry P
I’ll give it a proper read when I get a moment, but from a brief skim through a couple of pages all the rust spots look very familiar.
I do miss mine dearly, but the way the prices are now I wouldn’t want to spend what it would cost to get a decent one. Mine was less than £3k and I got several years of wonderful motoring in all weathers out of it. It’s a bit of a shame that current owners are unlikely to experience the joy of an integrale on snowy country roads. Then again, that’s probably what contributed to it’s demise.
I eventually broke it for parts, made a profit despite the engine and lots of the body not being salvageable, sending parts all over the world hopefully keeping many more alive.
