What to do with Vauxhall bits!

Post by PETROLHEAD »

Well, my miss's is something of an arsonist, she loves a bonfire, barbecue, wood burner etc, and i happen to come across an idea on youtube and she fell in love with the rustic, steampunk, upcycling ideas behind this little project,

So 3 steel wheels, threaded bar, nuts, and old gates were bastardised into an all in one barby burner!

I finished the assembly yesterday and it was time for its virginal ignition!

Here goes nothing, or the decking!

I think because of its vauxhall beginnings, and eventual cooking uses, I'm calling it

in fact....there's a few truck rims in the scrap bin...that'd make a mega heater!

but I bet there'd be more than enough heat off those

Love it . Been toying with the idea of using wheels as a fire pit. Got the idea from a campsite we stayed at . Your version is spot on 8-)

Yeah it kicks out some heat, prefers wood to coal so cheaply fed.

For cleaner air inside you can funnel the fumes out with a stove pipe, attached to a bot plate cap, and run it across your wall and heat a room no sweat!

Theres also a neat way of feeding the wood into the flames too with an angled upright from the fire belly area at 45degrees,

Unnecessary in my case because Michelle loves to mess with it so much! :P
