Metric pepperpot rims

Post by StescoG66 »

Anybody after some? I know they are not worth much, but if I can recoup some of what my naivety cost me I will be happy. Tyres are on them, but certainly not roadworthy. Probably ideal for someone making a showcar. Cosmetically not brilliant (one comical) but no damage and no buckles. I saw someone trying to sell them on eBay at £35 each but if I get that for the 4 I will be delighted. If no body wants them I will try eBay then failing that prob just weight them in for scrap. They are on my Sprint just now to enable me to roll it about, but will be replaced with 15" teledials.

You're dead right on all counts there mate, they're perfect, and valuable, to someone doing a fanatical restoration to factory, but I've tried selling them previously too, and i think i ended up using them myself just as you are right now! :D

Sorry i don't have nicer news, but, alloys such as that would probably get you a fiver each weighing in, which isnt too bad,

So long as you dont have to pay for the tyres to be removed! :x

Even at a fiver each then that is at least something back. I will keep using them until the car is painted then I will stick the proper wheels on that I am going to use. pic below

I also have a set of 15" 5 spoke Wolfrace that I changed my mind about to flog too (came off a Grande Punto, so 4 x 100 PCD)

Ok - a wee survey. Which to put on the Sprint. Both are 15" will be running 195/50 tyres.

Teledials
or
5 spokes?

I like the teledial wheels, but not sure they'd suit a sprint?

then again, i'm a tart for sticking with OE rims, as shrew will confirm :D

And as Kev will equally confirm, I'm not a teledial fan!

With the exception of the huge concave Gotti types on the back end of a Countach! Of course! :D

That said, I'm not in love with the wolfrace style, but wheels are such a personal thing.

I love 5 spokes as a rule, but prefer the spokes to taper the other way, narrower towards the outside, which also changes the look of the centre too more in my favour.

Funny about the little things eh!

I've currently only got 3 Metric wheels with decent ( but very old tyres) . I intend to run 6x14 genuine Minilites on my Sud with 185/60/14 tyres as I've got a set I used to run on the 33 race car in the 90s . They need a good refurb but i think silver with a polished rim would look good.
