Old Magazines.
I have just been given a copy of Autocar dated 13th Feb '82 which featured a great four page write-up on buying a secondhand Sud. All the details and spec was included along with the good and bad points. The cost of genuine spares made for some interesting comparisons with todays aftermarket prices eg a new rad can be had for £15 cheaper than an '82 Alfa one. As was done back then 6 cars were compared Escort 1.3GL Sud 1.3 Strada 65CL Mazda 323 Kadett 1.3 and Horizon. The Ford and Opel were picked as best for low maintenance costs but for "Pure diving experience in every aspect" they picked the Sud. Of even more interest to us is the reg numbers of the 3 Suds and 1 Sprint used are visible - so do they still exist? PLH 32R RLX 179R TLB 582V GBY 81T
Re: Old Magazines.
My first Sud was RLX 190R. It was a 5m as opposed to the ti in the magazine and that is why I sprayed my ti this colour when I restored it.
Dave Armstrong sent me a scan of a long term test on that car and that was when I noticed the number plate.

All those cars have gone, none have been Mot'd, Taxed or insured for the past 10 years.
Re: Old Magazines.
That's a bit of a shame Justin probably living on in restored vehicles.
