Tyres

The tyres on my Alfasud are cracking (and not in a good way) so I'm going to replace a pair. Just wondered if the good people of CAF could recommend a performance tyre for a Ti with 14" pepperpots? Thanks.

I haven't used tyres that small for a long time, and we all have favourites, but I'm a Pirelli fan.

I've tried everything , Michelin, continental, Bridgestone, good year, and for performance and longevity Pirelli were better with one Exception....the Pirelli pzero ROSSO was terrible, but every other pirelli I've had has been great.

I use pzero Assimetricos on my big BMW and get 40k fronts, 20k rears and excellent grip in all conditions and I drive it hard everyday. I used Pirelli p7's on smaller wheels years ago but I don't think they do them now, but they were equally excellent.

Second to Pirelli I'd go Continental, my Michelins were dead after 9k miles.

Tyres are expensive but cheaper ones can be a false economy.

Thanks veesix, the last tyres I bought were for my GTV and the were Pirellis, Pzero Nero GT 17" and more than anything I love they way the look but also suit the car. When it comes to 14" tyres, I don't know what Pirelli offer...seen some budget Pirellis that look horrid. I'll have to look at some more...

I have Pirellis on my MiTo and Sprint. Also had Pirellis on my old 147.
I have P Zero Neros on the MiTo and just replaced the front pair after 26,500 miles.
I have 14" wheels on the Sprint and have a pair of P6s (I believe P6s are now no longer available) and a pair of P6000s if this helps.

i have toyo t1r on the alfetta gtv, slightly soft side wall but they grip very well. I think they are very soft, as on hot days, parked up for a while after a good thrash, the tyres feel out of balance for a few miles then sort them selves out, almost like they went square lol

I'm a fan of Toyos as they are generally quite grippy but also quiet..choices choices!

The Pirelli P6000s that I bought new for my Sud are appalling in the wet. If you check the official tyre ratings they are supposed to be too.

I would vote for Yoky AO48R.
I use them in rallying and they are good wet or dry. Longevity is a different matter though. I think it will be a compromise between life and grip.
