Update on the update's update.
The car can be collected tomorrow. As luck would have it during testing one of the calipers siezed and when the prop was being taken off a manifold bolt sheared. All part of the joy of owning a 30 year old Alfa. I'm also told the clutch may now be at the point where it needs replacing and finally that the exhaust mid-section is a complete bodge.
Since the buying the car in October last year I have spent nearly 2/3rds of the purchase price on what you might call 'catch up' maintenance after many years of neglect by the previous owner(s). At least the body is sound. If that became a major issue I might just start crying!
I'm hoping I can now go through the summer without too many dramas.
Steve

Well I got started on that straight away!
Yesterday was glorious. Buzzing around East Sussex all day, sun glasses on, movie soundtrack running in my head, did a few tunnel runs, impressed the lady* and made a complete prat of myself. Joyous.
Today? Pissing down.
Oh, well.
Steve
*didn't impress the lady!

Some "ladies" just don't get it do they?
the same ladies that talk all the way through the best bits of "those" films! lol!

Unimpressed by Alfa? Tick!
Talks through movies? Tick!
Thinks my music is too loud? Tick!
It must be something in the DNA.

Old post I know but if anyone is struggling to find someone reliable to balance a prop I used this company in Bristol to balance my 75's prop
http://www.prop-shaft.com
Great service and when I popped in there was 3 gtv6 props on the shelf which had been balanced so they are very familiar with them.
