Alfasud Windscreen Repair Panels

Post by kevstaffs »

Hello all,

I would be grateful if anyone can help me please;

I am after one of those windscreen bottom corner repair panels - for the left (passenger) side.

I have already asked a few friends and contacts, and also the people who used to make them, and a couple of their retailers, with no joy to date.

If anyone has one, or knows of one, please get in touch.

Many thanks,

Kev.

Hi, thank you for that.

As i said in my post, i have already tried Alfa Service, being one of the manufacturers retailers - they don't have any of the Left side and will have no more as they are not being produced anymore, so it comes down to trying to find someone who may have one spare.

Hi,

Ask John at just suds, if he does not have the repair panels
he might have cut some good sections out of a scrapped
car!

Hello Shrew,

thanks for your reply.

No, it wouldn't, and that is my backstop, to have one fabricated from scratch.
Having said that, if i could lay my hands on one of the repair panels, it would be easier and cheaper, so in the first instance am trying to find one....hopefully....lol.

Hi Liam,

thank you for that.

I am intending on contacting John to see what he has etc.
Who knows, he may just have a repair panel stashed away somewhere....or, as you suggest, might have a section cut out, or one he could cut out etc.
Thanks for the tip, much appreciated.

Hello all,

I spoke with JC last night about these panels, who was very helpful as always.
Unfortunately, he did not have one stashed away, and none of the ones on his cars were worthy of resurrection.

So, the search continues....lol

If anyone can help, please get in touch.

It looks like i will have to have one made from scratch unless a repair panel pops up soonish...lol.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for that.

I have already spoken to him.
He sold the one he had for sale, which was Right Side anyway, and does not have any more.......unfortunately....lol.

Thanks anyway.

No probs...I hit this problem when I restored my Sprint and in the end fabricated my owner repair sections which were possibly a better solution anyway..

Hi John,

Lol, yes, i think it's looking that way, but obviously, it would be easier and cheaper to find one of those repair panels in the first instance, so well worth a try first.
I shall look for a while longer, then resort to Plan B, to make one from scratch...lol

Hi Richard,
yes, possibly so,
as i just said to John, it was worth a try firstly to see if i could get one of those repair panels, but looks like its coming down to fabricating one, as you say.
