Head Gasket Recommendations

Post by SudS2ti »

Hello everyone,
Could do with a bit of guidance, I will soon be rebuilding a 1.5 105bhp engine and just wanted to ask if anyone had any recommendations for decent quality head gaskets, or the ones to avoid given that originals are difficult to find?

I have seen some of the following makes, some easier to get than others.
Goetze
Payen
Victor Reinz
AJUSA
BGA
ATHENA

Thanks

As far as I can remember the original factory gaskets were made by Goetze and the were a brown colour

Thanks Gary, I think you are correct. I have read other recommendations for Goetze which would make sense. They are however one of the makes that is becoming more difficult to get hold of.
The BGA, AJUSA and Victor Reinz are readily available, thanks again.

I have used Reins kits in competition engines with no issues.

Thanks for all your replies, looks like Goetze and Victor Reinz are the preferred gasket of choice.
