I've been waiting for this site to appear!

Post by STEVE5M »

This is very good news for me. I have a sprint I'm going to start restoring in the summer and I will need a LOT of advice. Be kind to me. I can take things apart but reassembling them is another matter. Electrics are a complete mystery. Anyhow, it's a bare-metal restoration I have planned and this is the patient.

No idea, JB! That is a long way in the future. That is one of the many areas where I will be asking advice.

Thanks for the welcome!

Good spot. I started on a 5M in 1976. That is when I caught the bug. I wish I had got involved with suds again but every time I looked at one in the 80's they were rotten. I was hardly in a position to take on an ailing alfa. I am now so I have pitched in again and found this sprint last year. It was on eBay so you may have seen it.

Spot on! well done on finding your project sprint, and our little forum too, youre both very very welcome, and as stated above, rebuild/build threads are always great to have, so you'll be well supported and advised, no doubt about that.

Take apart, slow to reassemble? sounds very familiar!

Electrics? apparently they were a mystery to Alfa too!

Bare metal restoration? Now you're talking, Good Man!!

Enjoy the forum, and i look forward to you getting stuck in.

Pretty close then. Let's stay in touch. I'm having a garage built before my resto begins. Prob start back end of the summer. The sprint will will be out and about during the summer assuming it gets past the mot in April.
