Correct Kev. Sud failed to start when leaving work the problem being what you see. Got a lift home and grabbed my old one. Job done - don't throw nothing away unless it's totally bust. ;)

Not a car, but a hammer. Its war department as shown by the crows foot and possibly air force which is why I am asking here due to the air force interest.

But what was it for ? I have no idea as it appears to be a big toffee hammer, but I do not recall a big need for that in the forces.

I wondered if it was for testing detonators as it has never been used.

Or putting a fresh razor edge on the front of wings from when they have hit a butterfly at mach 1.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say new Giulia and a Bertone Giulia (not a thinly disguised BMW 3-series with an Alfa grille stuck on the front). But what do I know???

As for the exhaust/diffuser I have no idea. Seems to be rear-engined though.

Tony,
Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio,
No idea of the tail pipes and maybe a vintage Fiat. 124 ?

James,
Is it a magnetic tack hammer for trim work?

2nd Photo - Ford St Focus or possibly a Noble - bit different but both have central pipes?
3rd photo - Fiat 850 Sport.

Cheers,

Of course! It's not rear engined, it's mid-engined.

Ford GT?

The pulley is probably an accessory drive off the rear of the transaxle.

Yep, the Mercury panels are too deep and rounded for a Buick, it was the 3 vents that made me consider Buick. Too many hours reading street machine, led sleds. Did the "fay-roes" have a Mercury in American graffiti ?

I cheated on the SS , simply expanded the pic and saw SS on the speedo :D
