Listen, we're all retro!

Post by PETROLHEAD »

Hi all

i know this should be in the Classifieds, but the truth is it would never get a look at as its a little obscure!

so i'm briefly being a little naughty, and posting it here, shoot me!

Seeing as we're all a little retro, i thought i might mention my retro/vintage HiFi system that i'm very reluctantly going to part with.

It's a Technics New Class A stack system, bought brand new at great expense by me following an insurance payout after one of the many times i jumped off a superbike in the 90's

I bought it from Superfi in Nottingham after drooling over it for months whilst i waited for the claim to be settled, and i think i annoyed the hell out of the staff who let me demo sooooo many items soooo many times!

It is in rare stunning condition, and sounds fabulous, and with the interest in retro and vintage HiFi now they are only climbing in value and interest, a sound investment you could say!

All the details are in the link below, take a peak and feel free to treat your self

I flogged it years ago

I did buy one with it, SL110 i think it was, but only as a dust cover for the rest of the stack.

I think it turned 3 records in its lifetime with me, so i sold it.

I've looked for another one to top it off again, but the plastic lid hinges are terribly weak from sun brittling, and finding one with an intact lid is virtually impossible.

We'll see....

They are terribly feeble aren't they Phil.

Panasonic and Technics are sister companies, with shared components across many models,

It'll be good gear in that Music Centre! :P

Love my turntable, it's older than me nearly and still going strong. It's not a gramophone, and doesn't play 78's before anyone pipes up!

Ha ha! I'd get a photo of it, but it's all packed up ready for the house move. It's a 70's design still being made today!
