Sprint 6C - Sale

Post by Alfasixnut »

Reluctantly I am going to be selling my version of the 6C. :o
It has an MoT and runs well but could do with a cosmetic refurb. It has been featured in the AROC magazine and Retro Car magazine as well as build threads on Alfa websites. It is probably one of the best known Sprints around today.
I will be losing my storage space and have too many other cars...... :(
So what sort of price should I pitch it at and where would be the best place to sell? Advert in Pistonheads? Anglia Auction, Autotrader? E Bay?

Details now in the "Cars for Sale" section on here - I will keep it on here only for a couple of weeks then advertise it more widely.

Re: Sprint 6C - Sale - not!

Well the market has spoken- and despite three "nearly" sales, and a steadily lowered price, I still own the 6C!
I refused various exchanges and cash offers of up to £2500.
As always the price is dependent on what the market will pay - not what I think it is worth....However I do not have to sell and so I will keep the car and hopefully take it to a RWYB this year. Then I will rework the body and get a respray done.

Sorry to hear you had no luck selling Philip. It is worth more to you that those sort of offers.
Enjoy using it a bit longer. After all, that is why you built it.
All the best.

Just as a quick update to this saga, I put the 6C back on the "Bay" and got three bidders so a reasonable top bid! But it was from Holland....but he made contact and was to pay the deposit and arranged a date for collection.....then realised the next day that it was RHD and asked to back out!
Dohhhh..........
So I plan to take it to a Santa Pod RWYB on the 23rd of Sept.

Conversion from an RHD to a LHD is not a big deal for you, right? You managed to convert a 4 cylinder boxer engine FWD vehicle into a V6 RWD vehicle so such a conversion is a piece of cake for you. You could offer the Dutch interested person to do so against a fair rate?

Hi Alfa Japan - I doubt whether the conversion parts are available so not a job for me.
Well it went to the Pod - but ran out of fuel 1/2 mile from the petrol station on the way! Then I was told I could not run with treaded tyres....Much discussion and tooeing and frooeing and waiting around later, I was told that I could run - but it was too late and I had to get the car back and return home - and it did play up on my return as the water is not circulating to the radiator properly. Grrrr and it is back on the 'Bay.

Sprint 6C now sold to a London based "Alfisti". Cash paid and car taken away full of spare parts. So ends my second bout of Alfa ownership. It has been a demented few days moving out of my "Big workshop" and getting all my stuff back to our house.
Some farewell pics to follow when I recover!

Just to update this, I was trawling through the internet and "You Tube" and discovered that the 6C is now with "Luden Automotive" - who intend to bring it back to good order. They do classic and "interesting" car renovation and restoration so I am pleased that the 6C is going to be "looked after".
