Source for Alfa Romeo badge series 1 & 2 Sud?

Post by Alfa_Japan »

Gents,

Does anybody here have a good source for the round (preferably new) Alfa Romeo emblems applied to the S1 & S2 Suds on the front grille and rear trunk? These parts are usually exposed to wear & tear. I've done a quick search on the net but did not find the appropriate ones. The S3 Sud emblem is readily available, but the S1/S2 one apparently not or I'm searching in the wrong places.

Thanks in advance for any useful tip

Peter from Alfasud parts has usually got plenty of these badges for the 1972-80 Alfasuds. Top man he is too

Hi "Series 2 Missionary", of course Alfasudparts was one of the first locations to look. In their Web Shop there is nothing related to these eblems. As you suggested I will contact them, that's usually more effective.

Hi "alfasuddriver", maybe I'm not deep enough into the details regarding the S3, but the 3rd series Sud emblems are as far as I know readily available on E-Bay, potentially even still available at the dealer?

I'm not sure they are that readily available to be honest, there are badges that look similar but have different distances between the fitting studs. The Sud ones are also plastic. Thanks anyway.

Hello "alfasuddriver", in the parts catalogue the S3 Alfa Romeo emblem is indicated with the part numbers 510206 & 124368, maybe those old numbers (pre-Fiat era) may help you in your search? For the rear it depends on whether you have a hatch door or the small boot lid. For the hatch door the part number is the same as on the front 124368, but for the small boot lid it is 2400.51012. On E-Bay UK I found one but as you pointed out the pins are potentially incorrect? According the car compatibility search included in this auction it is compatible, but we all know how ignorant these compatibility checks can be when it comes to important details.

I used these on my car.
I now also have the black plastic surround as well :D the only thing is they only do / did the boot one so the grille badge is double sided foam tape stuck on as the lugs are horizonal not vertical and I cut them off.
Hope this is of help.

Thanks "alfa_japan", the part numbers should help identify the correct badge amongst badges that, on eBay at least, all look the same.

Yes, I got it from Kev (jtd) .
Being plastic I was able to give it a light wet flat, and polish it up.
