Hi Kev.

In the badge debate mine has rear quarter ti badges that look like they have been there since new and its a 1.2ti 1r' reg as well.

The new ones add a nice touch to the excellent finish of yours

cheers guys, fingers crossed and all.

i'm sure the badge thing comes really from when the car was made and which side of the changeover it was built or sold.

i'm not against the idea of having both on the car :)

passed the mot without any real drama
headlight aims were a bit out so we reset those, mot guy was pleased i'd sorted all the adjusters so they moved
CO content was nice, no adjustment needed. HC level higher than i'd like to have seen but still well under the pass limit, probably not helped by all the idling on the driveway. a few runs out should clear things along.
everything else worked a treat.
even the brakes passed without isuse.
even got 18% on the hand-brake reading without need to "help" it any!! knew this one had the best HB of any sud i've had as it is capable of holding itself on my little sloped driveway :)

taxed it now so off up to work to set the tracking and give it a spanner check underneath

looks like rain though.....argh!!! not another car i'm too afraid to take out :P

Congratulations Kev, the 'Sud looks an absolute beauty. Very much looking forward to seeing it in August.

Was a good turnout of 8 Suds at Ripon on Sunday, including Richard's green S1 and Carl's silver QV, both of which I'd not seen before. I also saw Jon Trinder, owner of the legendary NUM 56P-hopefully I managed to rope him into MITCAR too.

I Like the TI rear quarter badges on your car, go well with the silver paintwork. I would have put them on if were you.

spanner check and tracking done.
had a good look under it to see if there any issues......rear crank seal is weeping :(
hopefully it'll hold out until the winter. i'll have to monitor it, don't want oil splashing all down the underside

other than that it ran well through town trafic and out on the open road, although i'd forgotten how low geared they are!

took a few snaps at the local golf course....

Nice one Kev, not that I had any doubt.
Good when you have a tester who is flexible and doesn't just fail for a little adjustment needed.
So how long has it been since your car was last on the road/ MOT'd ?
She looks a treat, and I love that sunroof.
Enjoy it mate. :D :D

no idea when it was last on the road mate, unfortunately i don't have much history with the car.
have got a list of previous owners from DVLA so guess i could aks them for any details.
tax said it was last sorn'ed or taxed in 1999.....glad i wasn't stung for the intervening years :D

Looks excellent Kev,

Great news on the MOT pass, and pleased to see that you won't be tripping over that pipe now :D

Hope I get to see it in the metal sometime!

cheers

Hi Kev

You must be chuffed to bits????

Now get out there and give it a good thrashing  .
Those single carb engines need to be kept revving!!

Just one thought. Did they ever come with pinstripes down the side?

Looks fantastic just dont sell this one

cheers guys, at some point i'll get chance to use it!
still doesn't seem like my car though, like i took the easy option.
sell it? never say never. said i'd not sell VJM...always more cars to buy.

will probably be in 33 tomorrow night, yard full of cars here now which would all need shifting plus not done anything but short local runs yet.
aiming to go to cadwell in it saturday afternoon though.

sisters at cadwell today, big thanks for kieth making the trip up. certainly got some admiring glances to see 2 sud S1 ti's together.

note shrew and bryan making a makeshift phone battery charger in the back of shrews van, never knew jump-leads could be so delicate :D

also called in on john on the way home, the original owner who'd done most of the work before i got the car, gave him a ride out then a chance to drive it. he seemed to like it. 8-)

Great to catch up with you all guys. Had a great day and thanks for bringing your Sud Kev .
Good grid of Alfas racing, without doubt, the best sounding racers of the day.
Good luck for the second race for team BLS.
A few pics of the day.
