Alfasud Sprint Red - Concours Condition

Post by Marlow Sud »

Hi Guys,

There is a classic car dealer on the industrial estate where I work in Thame Oxfordshire. He has a concours condition Sprint that is not advertised yet. I think it is 1983? He drove it past my office window otherwise I would be none the wiser. Never spoken to him before but he is a nice guy. He says I can have it for £11,000. The same price as the one in New Zealand but it is in the UK. He says that if he advertises it the price will be quite a bit higher than this.

I will post details shortly. Anyone interested can contact the seller direct.

Good luck.

Brgds,
Simon

Anybody recognise how the rear brake conversion was done? Is it 156 / 147 discs and calipers ? Stub axel ?
Looks really nice.

Keith,

P4s had rear disc axles together with those red painted single pot cast iron sliding calipers.

I have one that may get fitted to my Sud one day although it has aluminium bodied calipers similar to those fitted to Mk4 Golfs which are a fair bit lighter.

Thanks,

Adam

The Alfa 155 etc has almost identical rear calipers to the p4 aswell.

I have a set of 155 and the VW calipers, and the only difference (regardless of ATE or Girling branding) was the position of the handbrake mechanism.

Quite easily adaptable to a sud rear disc axle too.

Hi guys

This is one of my restorations that I sold back in November to Attington Classics. The car is pretty much concourse and ready to use. I 've no affiliation to the dealer i sold it to but I will say that this car is the perfect buy for anyone looking for one of the best Sprint Cloverleafs in the country. I put more than 10 grand into this car, not counting my labour and ever single part has either been restored or replaced. I built it with the intention of keeping it long term and passing it onto my son but he decided that driving about in a 25 + year old car wasn't "cool" so in a moment of madness I put it up for sale.

The rear brake conversion is a mix of alfa 33 and 145 parts with some custom made brackets fabricated from 8mm thick plate steel cut on a CNC milling machine.

It would be nice to know the car's going to a good home to be appreciated and looked after by a likeminded enthusiast.

Hi Gtcoop,
Thanks for sharing with us, any chance you could do a thread of the build?
The brake conversion could be helpful. What do you have at the moment?
Cheers :D
Keith.
