im i missing somethaing ? tried to take out the speedo drive out aswell wont budge any tips?

Correctamundo! There is a threaded bush pressed onto the halfshaft to retain the outer bearing in the housing (Haynes calls it an "oil thrower"). You need the special tool that screws onto the bush to remove it. It is an interference fit.justsuds wrote:Speedo drives can be very difficult to get out, my last resort is to tack weld a nut to the top face and then attach a side hammer to pull it out. I think you might need a special tool to remove the drive flange though.
