Does anyone have any experience of these:

or anything like it? - A lot cheaper than a quaiffe, am i missing something? I imagine a good used LSD would be hard to come by? and I would be looking at the best part of £900 for a new quaiffe one.
Look forward to hearing from anyone who may have an opinion this.
Thanks

LSD?
Re: LSD?
Not much info on the company from their website, but maybe they have more of a presence on social media. Also, they appear to be trading in US$ which bothers me as neither the Alfasud, Sprint or 33 were officially exported to the US. I did a quick search on the Interweb for Traction Concepts and found this...jobeed wrote:Does anyone have any experience of these:

Not very complimentary I'm afraid, although in fairness none of the respondents had tried the product either.
Just my opinion, but to me it sounds too good to be true.

Re: LSD?
Never heard of them I'm afraid but from Lauren's post I agree with the concern about the US market expertise in vehicles not seen in the States.
Quaife are a decent compromise (and a good torque biasing LSD) though expensive as a one off and group buys don't seem to raise enough numbers.
Gripper will do one offs, I have one in my race car, I think RS Fruitbat uses one for tarmac events. Relatively aggressive but not too bad.
Tran-X used to do them but were bought by Quaife, I ran one years ago and it was the best I've used but, super aggressive! The ex-owner of Tran-X has started another company - I'll dig out their contact details, they may be worth an approach.
Titan have started doing LSD's in the last few years, I know them from Caterham and Ascari - they are a very good company. I know they do 105 series diffs for Alfaholics, they may be worth trying too (might do a lower quantity group buy than Quaife).
Secondhand ones do come up from time to time, but are never available for long! I know that BLS don't have any, I doubt Adie at AHM does but give him a call (he also sells new, not sure if he has stock though). Way back in the late 80's/early 90's BLS had 3/4 batches of 10 Quaife diffs made over several years, a lot went over to Denmark but many stayed here - they must all be somewhere because very few are accounted for! I dare say some are sat in boxes with failed synchros or selectors - perhaps with the owners not knowing what they have sat under the bench!

Re: LSD?
Thanks for replies from you both. I think you are right, I don't need to worry too much about the diff at the minute, I have an enormous project so have the time to see if I can come across a used one, of known quality, before I do the gearbox.
I'm not against trying unknown / new / cheaper brands, as long as its something I know a bit about, so I can take a judgement myself, but here I have no knowledge! So thanks for the opinions, and I take your advice.

Re: LSD?
As mentioned in Mini forum this looks identical to Phantom-grip LSD. I had a Phantom-Grip in my autotest Mini a few years ago. They wear out very quickly and the diff went bang after about 10 events.
Diff action was quite mild, could still steer one-handed unlike a Quaife diff. We all use Quaife duffs now on Minis but with power steering. As far as I know no one has yet managed to break a Quaife diff auto testing yet.
I would steer clear

Re: LSD?
Gripper was good but definately all or nothing and that was the only way to go round a corner, either coast or nail it to the floor. Anything else and you needed to be built like Arnie to turn the wheel!!
I tend to use a quaiffe one for tarmac events as it is much more user friendly.
