Engine and 'box look great Chris, your attention to detail is great, as ever, - I like all the replated steel parts. Unfortunately I don't have any new Romabloc clips, but I do keep all the used ones, I'll get the best ones replated.

Re: Gearbox foam support
I've always presumed that its purpose was noise suppression, and earlier cars had a much thinner piece of foam here, - wash it ?? I would put it back, just to keep the noise down, - I've one or two of these, but not as clean as yours !

The auctioneer mentioned Shrewsbury ..... and I think there was only one bid ?? - in the auction pictures the interior looked really poor, but it looked ok on the telly, also, in the auction details it did say it needed to back to the production company after the auction. I've wondered if its possible to fit a series 3 heater, - same fitting through the bulkhead, but thats the easy bit, connecting to the 'screen demisting vents and the controls is the tricky bit !

Re: Anyone got a 1500 block?
87mm bore - 1700 pistons, - with a 1500 ( 67.2mm stroke ) crank, - the 145 / 146 1.6 boxer engines did it the other way, with 84mm bore and 72mm ( 1700 ) crank, - short stroke = revs !
If you still need a 1500 block I'm sure I will have one, - let me know if you do.
Cheers, John.

The problem may lie with the inlet manifold, some are very thin between the inlet tract and the counter bore for the mounting nut, so that the gasket may leak air into the inlet at small thottle opening when there is max. vacuum in the inlet. I have cured this in the past by removing the stud that i...
