Anyone else noticed this
I don’t want to come across as some kind of grumpy old Ba***rd. But I’m noticing an alarming increase in the number of people venturing into the outside lane whilst towing. Sometimes it’s a 4x4 with a plant or car trailer to a mid size car with a Small bubble type caravan. Now call me old fashioned but when I took my test any vehicle towing a trailer no matter how small were forbidden from the outside lane. Has the law changed or is the world just getting more idiots (p.s it is regardless)
Re: Anyone else noticed this
It's not just you, I followed a pick up with trailer on Monday on the M6, averaging about 70mph, and in and out of the 3rd Lane, - idiot !

Re: Anyone else noticed t
Thanks John. Bring back motorway patrols. Not the traffic wombles.

I also think the standard of driving is getting worse , what with lane hoggers and undertakers. Trailers are often used by people who are not safe. Just because you have one , or access to one doesn't mean you can use one.
I think a read of a current Highway Code would shock most of us "older drivers".
Filtering when lanes close is a popular one, and it would work if the idea was understood by all drivers. let one in per car, but people shut the door saying they are pushing in at the end.
Glad I steer clear of cities and town centres, pun not intended.

I used to tow a caravan years ago, and I thought the limit was 56mph.
Also some European countries have caravan MoT tests
I think we should have them here
Biggest culprit is caravans with some tyre tread, but tyres that are ancient and perished.
Interesting to note for classic car owners. Tyres over 10 years old are illegal on the front wheels.
