Re: BBC 4 at 8 pm
I think the starfighter is quite maligned , as I understand it (and I'm no expert) it was used primarily for a purpose it wasn't designed for. My pal (the one I mentioned earlier) his dad in his latter years in the raf used to train the Luftwaffe to fly the starfighter, I'm guessing in the early 80'...

Did you get a write up in a custom car magazine? Or did you not get time to turn the boot into a massive bass box?

Re: BBC 4 at 8 pm
I'm ashamed to say my history knowledge is very poor indeed, but my best pal was one of the first to fly the Euro fighter (after it was released to the raf) He signed up for an extra 3 years for the sole purpose of getting in it after the delays. Anyway my point is he always reckoned the U.K. Had to...

Re: Spot the alfa
When I was a kid, I once got a lift of someone with a 1275 gt. it was absolutely immaculate apart from about half a dozen holes in the roof lining, I was telling how much I liked his car, but questioned what the holes were. He told me I'd work it out one day! I've just got it! That's solved a 28 yr ...

Ha ha! I'd get a photo of it, but it's all packed up ready for the house move. It's a 70's design still being made today!

Love my turntable, it's older than me nearly and still going strong. It's not a gramophone, and doesn't play 78's before anyone pipes up!

Re: What wheels?
I'll try and do better when I build mine! It sits very high at the minute the chap was building it as a rally car apparently. I'm hoping it will be as simple as shorter springs as it's got new bilstien dampers and alfaholics suspension kit fitted. Just trying to arrange to collect it between Christm...

Yes I read that article, and am inclined to agree with you about this being too low, but when you see how it performs it's rather impressive chasing down what looks to be a 997 gt3.

Nice bit of kit that isn't it! Some interesting footage at the Nurburgring on youtube.
They also built a similar car for a customer in silver grey which is nice. Not quite so low, standard interior.

There is a long ramp with a hairpin bend halfway down at our local supermarket, unfortunately as soon as you reach an interesting speed the wheels just start to judder and the thrill is gone. My missus no longer lets me go shopping with her.

Thanks kev, Shrew.
Those wheels look great, I'm not quite up for spending another 600quid on the car this month though unfortunately!
Will put them on watch list. But pros and cons? About the same money for four new replicas from alfaholics or classic Alfa?

What wheels?
Looking for wheel advice! I'm thinking about wheels and seats for the new Giulia. Wheels should be 6 x 15 with 108pcd or thereabouts. I want something close to period and a bit racy any suggestions? I really like the compomotive / compagnolo daytona / 5 star, but I think they are 14inch only? Except...

Sorry to all those interested, I think I have emailed everyone individually, but due to the flat we wanted no longer being on the market I am going to hold on to this in the hope we get a place with a garage.
If the situation changes will let you know.

Series 2 Ti project
Well, What can I say! Having spent the last year sourcing parts and paying for storage my better half has decided that when we move house it is not going to be a nice place with a good sized garage, but a town centre flat! I resisted this as long as a I could, but we saw one the other day which even...

He spent over 4K in 2012 on an engine 'rebuild' at just under 100,000 mil...

Wasn't sure where to post this! And sorry not Alfa related! Has anyone driven, or have experience of a 968? They don't really do it for me, but I've heard nothing but good things about them.
