Late Summer meet, Classic car night, Thursday 25th September

As a possible last ride out for those of us, (not me, I'm afraid :( ) with a classic here's a chance for a midweek meet with a little bit of a different flavour to it.
The Classic car nights they have at Burton Waters near Lincoln are very well attended when the weather is good so if the sun is shining then it should be a good crowd with makes of all kinds. Anything from Alfas  to Zagato.
All very informal, no times to attend to or anything although once the sun goes down folks do drift off.
Pub does a great choice of drinks and good food too, being a bit later in the season it shouldn't be quite as busy as in the really hot nights there is quite a crowd.

Simple plan is, just turn up when you can, have a chat with like minded Classic car owners, pint and a bite to eat maybe, all very relaxed.

Best to aim to be there by 7pm really as this time of year the light is near gone by 8pm if you want to see the cars, but knowing what it's like the chat will move into the bar soon enough so will probably be around until 10pm onwards.
Especially as it's a certain someones Birthday that day....

Heres some pics of previous years events that I've been to so you get a flavour of what may or may not turn up.
The Pub is near to Lincoln, just off the bypass so has easy access from major routes.

Please come along if you can, will be a last chance for many to get the Classic out before laying up for the Winter...(that came around quick, didn't it!!) as most surrunder the Road Tax for October onwards.

Yep, having been to a couple of these meets previously myself, i cvn vouch just how great events these are.

Great variety of cars and ages, lovely surroundings, not a bad drive from most directions, and a half right pint to boot, what more could you ask for?

I'll be there mate, i'll look forward to it,

well, it is my birthday too! :D :D :D

must admit that i wondered if it was a bit too late in the year and should we postpone until next spring...

7-45pm now and pitch black out so guess all the classics will have gone by this time on thursday night.

still, the pub will be open :D

as i thought, pretty much getting dark by the time rob & me arrived.
nice to bump into BLS tom as soon as we arrive, with a legend of alfa racing alongside him, graham presley of the 75 turbo racer. very nice to meet him, hope he didn't think my questions too daft, pretty sure tom did as usual :)

shrew, mrs shrew & pap shrew arrived then so we had a mooch around the yard.

for the time of year and time of evening there was a great collection of classics. shame i didn't think to take many pics until the light was pretty much gone

nice to chat for an hour or so, have a look over some nice cars, the yellow mini estate was done very nicely, home in time for a cuppa and sausage & chips ;) perfect :D

next spring we'll have another attempt at getting a meet lined up, a truly great little venue with loads of different stuff to see

Shrew, Mrs Shrew and Papa Shrew had a lovely time too, it was a great turn out.

Glad you got a picture of Toms SAAB in there mate, showing off his Dark Side! :P

Papa Shrew did his usual trick of trying to unwittingly annoy some owners :o

Apparently Mini Man had the wrong engine in it, a poor choice of carburettor, and a colour that just didn't float his boat! lol!

Car of the meet for me was the Plymouth Deluxe, lovely big old luxury yank tank, even if it would fit inside the footprint of that Rolls Royce twice! :D
