Morning chaps

The times come to sell this block. As you know this is the holly grale of boxer engine mods.
It's had slite damage from a Conrod letting go to the very bottom of the bore . But I do say slite! I'm being honest here and don't what to mislead anyone .i don't know if the crank is damaged . It looks ok . I have four JE pistons , one is brand-new. four conrods and everything thing in the pictures. As you know the pistons on there own are around £700-£800!
Looking for offers close to this.
I've also got a pair of 16v heads but without covers and pulleys I can add for extra ;)

Nice bundle mate, good price too considering.

If i had the money spare I'd jump at it, like you correctly say, the pistons are almost that on their own, so a pre-bored block, and a crank, front and back plate aswell, makes it a bit of a bargain i reckon.

The mark in the bore looks so low in the stroke, that it would have no effect on performance or reliabilty whatsoever, its miles away by the looks of it, but a simple 3 legged hone tool would probably be all thats needed to have it like new again in there generally, and a good idea overall.

Good luck mate, but i suspect you shouldn't need it! :D

What spec are the heads/cams?

Assume the crank is a std one as per the rods - have either been lightened / balanced etc?

Thanks

Hi
As far as I know the crank is standard but I could be wrong . But I don't want to mislead ! I've never weigh the pistons and conrods . One piston is brand new.so would have to be done anyway. The spare heads I've got are standard. I bought them as spares. As boxers are getting rare as you know ;)
Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply, a mate wants some more power from his 16v racer but after talking to him it's cams and heads he wants to try, and stick to his 1700 block.

Morning Chris

I'd prefer to sell it all together chap as I think it would be harder to sell the block and pistons on there own ?

Ok mate,

it's just that I've got a good block and solid rebuilt heads, which needs a crank and piston rods, thats why I'm asking.

If it comes to that, please keep me in mind :)

Did the block and pistons come from Dave Barbera in Wales? If so it was me who supplied the new piston, we did a deal when I bought my pistons, he was unable to order just one so I ordered 5 and he had the spare one. As previously stated, the pistons alone cost around £750 for a set so this is a pretty good deal, good luck with the sale

Good Grief! Half? :o

I think its pretty cheap as it is JB, let alone discounted to be honest, no wonder you'd rather sit on it, £400 quid isn't likely to change your life is it
