I had to catch elbow, and metallica, brilliant!

there certainly are some "alternative" acts too eh, not sure it'd be my cup of tea in the flesh,

just looks like a sea of the great unwashed to me! Phew! :D

I caught the set from Chvrches (no, they actually do spell it that way) after getting back from Goodwood. Listening to thier album on Youtube quite a lot at the moment... Then reverting to one of their original inspirations, fellow Scots the Cocteau Twins.

With such a short attention span, I could almost qualify as a "yoof"

OK, perhaps not.

did see they were available, and spelt their name wrong!, but haven't heard of them.

may well check them out if there's a resemblance of the cocteau twins ;)

There are some hints there, but not very obvious. Chvrches are synth-pop, with a dark edge, parallels are largely confined to synth drums and girlie vocals. Certainly nothing like Robin Guthrie's screeching, mesmeric guitar work. There again, you pick your era with the Cocteaus, I prefer their early stuff, being an ex-punk

I ought to watch the Blondie set on the iPlayer before it times out, although I didn't think much of their recent Maida Vale appearance. Perhaps I should listen to my vinyl version of Parallel Lines instead...
