Had a knock at the door earlier this week and there was a young lad trying to flog me a mail order bride or summat like that- an offer that was easy to resist anyway.

He spent much of the time talking about my GTV6 which was parked on the drive. I was thinking how good it was for a young lad to enthuse about an old Alfa.

Then he went and spoiled it all by saying, " First time I've seen one of these cars from the Back To The Future film. "

Oh well, at least he got the colour vaguely correct.

And the stylist of course - both designed by Giugiaro, although how anyone could mistake a GTV6 for a DeLorean I can't imagine. Perhaps he came from an alternative timeline - let's see...

When I had my first Sprint one of my Top Gearish know all acquaintances informed everyone in the pub I had a GTV6! as a young 20 year old I kept quiet.....!!!!

Actually there are similar style points as you guys have mentioned, even to the Princess, which I never fancied and still don't so have at least one functioning brain cell remaining. I do like the " wedge " type of styling, just one reason why I like the Alfetta, the DeLorean and the Sprint over the 'sud, although I still have what will probably remain an unfulfilled hankering to own another 'sud, a Greencloverleaf naturally !

It wasn't long ago that Kev and I were looking at some DeLoreans at an East Kirkby meet, they attracted a lot of attention and despite the fact that they are probably awful cars in many ways I do like the styling and can see the attraction. Really enjoyed the last episode of " For The Love Of Cars " which featured one of these, smoke 'an all !!! Fascinating story though.

i think the worst (most ignorant) similarities ive ever heard are the GTV compared to a princess of course, and, a Volvo 340 likened to the 33!
