Very Sad News.....

Hello all alfisti and forum members.

It is with a heavy heart that i share the sad news that i heard myself this morning, that one of our longest and most active members, Keith, aka Kegsti, had passed away yesterday.

Some of you may have known that he had been very poorly and battling with cancer, but i'm hoping that many more of you knew Keith from a far happier side of his life, and that would be his love of Alfa Romeo's, and through his amazing S1 Sud, and 156.

If you were ever lucky enough to see some of his masterclass restoration work in his former day job, you'd be hard pressed to find a more skilled professional metalworker, his work on some of the rarest and most valuable classic cars was nothing short of incredible!

Keith's passing is a great loss to the forum, he will be greatly missed, and i'd like to pass our condoloences on behalf of the Classic Alfa Forum to his family and friends.

Keith was such a lovely guy, he thought nothing of passing on his wealth of experience and knowledge, and was genuinely one of the nicest fella's you could wish to meet.

Rest in peace Kegsti, and know that were loved, cherished, and appreciated, by all that met you both online amongst the chat rooms, and in real life.....

I haven't been on here for such a long time, mostly through locking myself out and forgetting my password, but somehow my phone has remembered me.

To get the call this morning was heart breaking.
The last year or more Keith has been struggling but we had hopes that this latest bout of treatment would finally turn the corner. We often spoke about how many times could you get setbacks and try and bounce back, I know from conversations we had that it was getting him down, and who wouldn't after all the treatment and non stop ups and downs.
I'm just so grateful to his great friend Dianne for her care of Keith and bringing him to NAD this year even if he really didn't feel up to it we hoped as he did that it would perk him up a bit, which I'm sure it did.
Speaking a week or so ago we hoped the tide would turn but alas it wasn't to be.

He was sad and disappointed that he didn't have enough energy to finish the restoration of his father's James scrambler although he very recently did a bit more to it, and his beloved Sud not being used was another niggle. We always hoped the turnaround would come and he'd get back on his feet.
Only this afternoon I made a neat little fuel pump mount for my Mini and caught myself thinking I'll send Keith a pic, he'll like that. But alas mate it's not to be.

A big part of the original forum members has gone, things will never be the same.

Hi guys. I’m so sorry to hear this news. I met keith a Few times usually trading bits and pieces and really enjoyed chatting with him. A true Alfisti and a throughly decent chap. He will be greatly missed condolences to his family.
