Coolant drain plugs

Hi all,
Got a full winter’s work laid out for the Sprint and rather than do my usual coolant dump on the workshop floor via hose removal - thought I’d try the more elegant solution of the drain plugs on the underneath of each head. Quick question - I’ve usually been scared off by the thought of the classic steel bolt into aluminium head with lots of water involved….. so worried of drain bolt head shearing off. Is this normally fine and I’m being over cautious or have people had this disaster? Just wondering on best way to approach them - gentle use of long bar or impact driver? Cheers Ed.
