Managed to do a clutch slave cylinder replacement in under half an hour! Well chuffed! I've spent hours and hours in the past trying to get the circlip back on!

Been there and done that.
I tend to use the tip Kev suggested a while ago. Using sockets extensions and a bolt to brace off the alternator mounting and wind it into place.
