Hi
Does anyone know where I can get a set of oversize pistons for my series 2 Alfa 145.
It is a CF2, 2.0 litre Cloverleaf with the plastic top.
All options gratefully received , thanks in advance.

I’ve seen those he has 3 left, was hoping to get 4, although if I took his 3 I’d only need 1 !!!!!!

The bores are too worn for just rings, that would be just too easy!!
I will give the other two companies a call and see what they have, I have check there online listings with no luck but it is worth a phone call.

Looks like I’ve found a set from Greece, unbelievable how they can obtain parts not available in the UK.

But surely that's that he has 3 sets left.... £275 for 1 piston, that can't be right.. A set of forged ones won't be much more!

If he is asking that for one piston he'll be having them for a long time!

The ad defo says ‘piston’ singular……like Kev says he won’t be selling at that price any time soon.

A new set made would be same if not less than 275 each.

Anything in the Fiat family the same? or try Bianco Auto Developments as they built quite a few twins park prod racers and may have some lying around(assuming who took over from Gary / Harry continued as is).

I looked at the Wossner forged pistons also, but these raise the compression ratio to around 12.6:1.
For me and my usage as a semi daily driver the extra work involved using these, not to mention the costs involved and possibly the drivability also.
If the pistons I’ve sorted from Greece which are normal 0.4 oversize don’t materialise then Adie at A H Motorsport does a set of forged oversize pistons that only increase the compression ratio to 11:1, for me that’s much more straightforward.

I wondered if you were racing ? Maybe try Alfa Specialists in Haslingden, Lancs for oversize pistons.

If no luck, buy a used 2.0 TS engine from him. Might be a lot cheaper!

If I remember rightly Kev there was a set of useable pistons aswell. (In Mahle boxes but they were std ones)

The bottom end in my engine has been checked by the machine shop and is all good, I have got new bearings and thrust washers to complete the job.
The head has been checked and skimmed with a couple of new valve guides needed and is good to go.
It was the pistons that where the issue as they needed to be oversize, but as I said earlier they hopefully are sorted one way or another.

It was bugging me so I messaged that ebay seller, he does indeed only have 3 and its per piston at £275!!
As much use as a chocolate fireguard.

I wish I could remember the company name, but there was an exhibitor at NEC did pistons - big catalogue and twinnsparks were well catered for. Will try to find out - I gave the catalogue to my pal rebuilding a Nord.

Maybe buy the three pistons and just have three cylinders rebored?

Then you would have a

Single standard, twin Spark, triple rebore, quatrovalvole engine.
