Clutching at straws

Post by Harry_p »

The clutch on my car feels a bit iffy, and if I plant the throttle at 3500rpm or so it slips for a fraction of a second before accelerating like normal. It never continues to slip like they usually do when they’re worn out, but concerned there might be something amiss somewhere.

Is there room to wiggle the gearbox off if the back of the engine is dropped? Haynes says to drop the whole engine and gearbox out which sounds like more effort than I want to get involved in at the moment.

Yes, I've removed the gearbox by tilting the engine back.
Strong help needed to replace it!

Haha, yep, never a fun job.

I usually find swearing at it, giving up and going back to it the next day helps it slide on a lot easier.

Thanks for the help.
