Lowering with 15x7 wheels?

Hi all,
Ok this is most likely an excuse to show off my new wheels, supplied and refurbished by shrew

but I was planning on using the lowering springs that were supplied with the car and now that I have fitted the wheels I'm not sure there is enough clearance.
Any one got any experience with this?

Hi, yeah as I highlighted in your original thread "New & Decoding VIN", with 7 x 15s and lowering you start to foul the arches. You could have the arch lips peened over by a body shop, which should give you enough room, but you need to watch out and not create a moisture and mud trap. The other forum guys may know some other better ways.
I've just got some slightly stiffened springs which are lowered by 12-14mm only - to try and avoid doing all that arch work. Once I find the time to fit them over the next couple of weeks or so, I can let you know what they are like.

I know its only a picture, but there looks like some room for height adjustment to me, and don't forget that lowering springs are normally made stiffer too so you'll have less body roll bringing the arches down to the wheels/tyres compared to normal anyway.
Having the arches inner profile lip "rolled" is an excellent suggestion, and is best done with the correct tool and results in a clean paintless modification if done properly and there are no other issues to take into consideration.
I managed a complete inside roll up and even achieved around a 10/12mm flare on my 33 arches without requiring any paintwork rectification, just the right tools and patience.
That was to squeeze 17" x 9j wheels into a piddly little 33 wing and arch, so i reckon yours should be easy!

Hi,
They are ET35, you can find more detail in my post under the 'parts wanted' section called 'Wheels for 89 sprint'
What caught me out was that I needed shorter bolts to fit them, so budget that in with the wheels.
