Typical example.........
Working on an Aston that got bumped up the @rse. It has bowed the rear quarter but has pull out nice. Boot repaired and a new valence was made.
I need to fade into the doors.
The car looks quite tidy but stripped the door to remove the handle and mirror.
Now these cars have a polker dot trim inside the shut and back of the door (remember we are talking 1960's)
This is a new one fitted to a resto we are doing.
The second is a door restored prior to fitting the said trim.
This is what I uncovered
As you have guessed, you can not see it when all fitted up.

That looks a tight lip.
You can not get any kit in there other than blasting to really get it clean can you.
Good luck, it is a great looking motor.

That is always the biggest problem with American cars - they were never built to last, so often have rust traps designed in from the start. My old Baccaruda was just a ball of rust when I sold it, and although I hear rumours that its restoration continues, here we are, 13 years later and it still isn't on the road. It may have been tatty, but at least I put 36,000 miles on the clock in 4 years. Brilliant fun, even if it cost me more than £10k in petrol alone...
Good luck with de-rusting around that bootlid JB!

Running them isn't a problem, in America!
Its only trying to run one at this countries fuel prices that tarnishes the experience,
But not altogether ruin it!
