So, thanks to sprint88 I have instructions of how to drop the engine. General pimp up, belts, water pump etc will follow (given myself until May - yes I'm that incompetent!)
Think I've attached something below, what are your thoughts on the 'breathing' improvements in the article (gregs car) worth a shot? - I'm not so concerned about power as its a slow car anyway in modern terms but, the driving experience. Sounds etc. (Hope the upload worked, will find out in a minute)

The principles of all that is mentioned in the article is sound, and largely doable on a small budget or even diy.
I say go for it, all of it, and some!

right! just need to run the article through google translate and see if the local alfa mechanic understands.... sometimes my life would be so much easier if I were back in the UK.

Well you could always drive your car to the UK and I'm sure I could sort it for you .I'm in Margate Kent . 23 miles from Dover.

click on "user control panel" at top left,
hover over the "overview" tab down the left side, opens a drop down box, click on "private messages",
hover over "compose message" and the "inbox" tab will appear, click on that mate
