164 QV Air Flow Meter, Bosch 0 280 203 026 Required?

Post by PETROLHEAD »

Hi all

It would appear that the Air Flow Meter on my 164 qv has a dead spot that kicks in at 2500rpm, creating the mother of all stutters and misfires

Ive split the top case to inspect it and attempt a refurbishment but i think i'm pee'ing in the wind to be honest, so has anyone got one of the old mechanical flap type AFM hanging around?

Maybe even to try first of all to make sure its that AFM giving me this symptom but i'm pretty sure.

The bosch number is 0 280 203 026 and is shared with a couple of fiats and the porsche 944 i believe.

Thanks in advance

Hi Simon

and thanks very much, But, i think io can save you the time and trouble if they are vauxhall models.

the bosch afm fitted to the 164 qv is almost unique but for a couple of Fiats and Lancia's, and the Porsche 944 2.5 turbo!

Crappy German deisgned parts, made in France, poor Alfa didn't stand a chance,

I smell a conspiracy!

I did have a Porsche 944 turbo one from a 1989 silver rose 240 Bhp model but not sure if I kept it that's why I will check part numbers

I've found one of the air flow meters but it's the wrong one and has five wires and air temp sensor I will look at work for Porsche one as I've got some other bits from it so it might be hiding there
