Sprint 16V Build

This new forum deserves every success - and it has spurred me on to get a move on with one of my longer term projects!
Back in 2008 I bought an engine-less Sprint to act as the basis for my 6C project.
In the event it was too good to be extensively chopped about and another rustier Sprint became the 6C.
Anyway I bought a 16V 145/6 engine in 2009 and the two have been separated for too long - so this year, and this forum, will see this project progressing
I also will thank (again) Chris 16v for the front cross member that he supplied in 2010!

Oooops should this thread be in this section as it is now a non standard Alfa? But I think a few Sprints were built with 16V engines in Australia??

Hi Phil
sorry i missed you near Christmas, i gather you dropped in
I think the main technical sud, sprint, 33 lounge would be the best place for a Build Thread mate.
Once its at the turtle wax stage them maybe the gallery to quickly refer to occasional browsers and inspire others, but a build thread would be better shared with the world in the main tech lounges Phil.
Show us all again what youre up to with the spanners this time!
If youre happy to Phil, i can move your thread over for you, I think! ha ha!

Hi Chris
Nice to be together on here - and since retiring I've been busy on non Alfa builds - Morris 1000, MGTC (servicing), Ronart and the latest is a Speed Six Bentley!

Looking for a sprint project myself, or even a minter for that matter.
If you are selling I'd be in the market, please e mail me. Don't think I can PM yet as I'm new

Well the Sprint is now out of the shed but the plan to tow it home was scuppered when I discovered that there were no brakes - I didn't think the foot brake would work

- but when I pulled up the handbrake lever, there was no cable to the brakes at the back

- so I've arranged for a local pick up truck......

Yes Chris - need to move closer to Leicester and family.
Still - had a closer look around the back of the Sprint and it is in quite good condition. The spare wheel well has a couple of small holes where the towing bracket has been pulled off. There is very little rust on the tailgate and the rear lip is also virtually rust free.
As a bonus there is also a Blaupunkt radio/tape unit!

Evening
The sprint doesn't look to rusty, considering it's been outside! Could have been a lot Worse

should be ready for the weekend
