New boot floor and both inner wheel tubs. I’ve also fitted a new rear panel. We’re fast approaching the end of all the major welding. There’s still a few welds that need tidying up then it’s on to the actual prep for paint etc. the underside will then stripped back to bare metal again and I’ve decided to treat the underside with U-Pol Gravitex textured finish. The underside will then be sprayed body colour

Well I Finally went and bought myself a 3D printer. Still learning how and what to do but. Im hoping to make all manner of small plastic bits and pieces for our little Alfas.
I went with the Bambu labs P1s machine. In the end as they seem to be the current market leaders in this tech.
It’s a veritable minefield of filaments and colours etc. in time im even hoping to make replacements alloy wheel centre caps you know the black and white ones that always crumble to dust.
Still got some practising to do first.
So watch this space for future developments.

First practical part to come off the 3D printer. These clips hold the washer jets and pipe to the wiper arms on 916 Gtv and spiders. I’ve used PETG HF filament as it has good UV protection. And these have printed nicely. My next project will be the plastic end pieces from the external door top trims on suds aswell as the white clips that hold the brake and fuel pipes under the car.

They look really good
If you have success with the white plastic fuel/brake pipe clips I will happily buy some as l managed to break the first one I tried to remove today - didn’t even try any of the others after that

No problem Gary. I’ll keep you posted.luckily I do have a NOS clip so it just a case of copying it accurately. I’m just having to learn to use Fusion 360 Cad programme. I’ve used solid works and Autocad in the past but Fusion seem to be the best for 3d printers.

Thanks Lou
Bonnet rod clips would be good as well if they’re possible to make
The only ones I ever see are very expensive!!

Just printed. A Set of 40mm carb trumpets. These were printed in PETG HF filament. Apparently its temperature stable isn’t affected by petrol. The print could do with a little smoothing with a rubbing block around the top radius but this is a great way of tuning different trumpet lengths. Then when you’ve settled on the optimum height you could get a set machined out of metal if so desired.

Hi Keith. No not on this occasion. We’re touring round and didn’t want the hassle of towing. We may end up in Italy at certain museum. I was last there over 45yrs ago.
