are own section would be great, how I see it is . If we could get 1 Sud 1 sprint 1 33 for starters , that would be a great base to start with? What do you chaps think?

ok guys.
seems there is a bit of enthusiasm growing for it so shall we go ahead with it?
question now is, just arrange to meet up soemwhere on the day or risk organising a display....if we have enough willing cars/owners to turn up?
i won't have anything worthy of displaying, don't know how many would be willing?
maybe a meet up this year with plans for a proper display next year??

I'm in favour of an area for CAF/Display and the 6C will be there!

ok guys.
there's been a little chat about if we are doing anything for mitcar.
i think there still may be an opportunity to have a little space for a mini display (not many cars, not mini cars.......

) if we act fast.
i can ask again with the organisers who have previously agreed to set a bit of an area aside for us.
i'm more than keen on us doing this, just unsure about the best way to go about it.
so, if i put the effort in and try and get the ball rolling again.....how many will turn up?
not least of all, i don't even have a car worthy of being on any gathering/display so i also need to know if any classic alfa guys would be willing to bring their pride and joy along......

Don't worry mate, i'll give you a lift!
In the Van no doubt the way i' carry on! ha ha!
I think 17th of august gives us enough time to rally the troops, so we just need to get behind the thread a little, and push it harder.
Be a shame to miss the opportunity this year i think, our founding year, so i reckon lets go for it!

Count me in.
I can bring the Alfetta along. The sprint is way too scruffy!

Happy to do that Steve

Sorry I can't make it as I have been told by "her who should be obeyed" that I am taking the "family" (not the alfa's) to Florida this year
Would rather be with you guys than "mickey"

+ I could buy another alfa instead
PS
Don't tell the wife

ok.
been in touch with the organising team at mitcar again, see what the position is now regarding allocation of space if at all possible.
when it was first talked of there wasn't much interest so i felt very uneasy in trying to reserve ourselves any kind of space for us as numbers/intrest was very low. would look like proper numpties if we said we need space for 20+ cars then it's just shrew & me turn up!
i have left the thread for a few weeks to see what turns up, would there be renewed enthusiasm and a long list of attendees?
seems not.
that's in no way a dig or complaint from me, i know it's an incredibly busy time of year with school holidays and family holidays etc booked. and not on everyones doorstep despite the central location.
so what to do now?
our own dedicated parking area won't happen.
we could of course all park together if we meet up somewhere outside the venue and drive in together, in convoy (without the need for CB radios

) so to speak.
as long as we announce ourselves to the organisors on our arrival that we wish to park toegther then they will be fine with that.
the other option is to join with a local AROC group that will have an area set aside, our local Lincs section would be the obvious choice for me to arrange it with as I know Mike pretty well.
so the choices are,
meet up on the way and drive in together, parking amongst the general alfa collection but together.
park with a local group, as in the lincs section for example.
or just turn up as and when and agree to all meet up, on foot at a pre arranged time/place for a natter.
myself, i'm easy with any option.
but turning up with anything more than that will have to wait for another time i'm afraid.
we have to respect the organisors decision as they have paid a lot of money to put on the event not to mention the time they've put into it. if they catered for every internet forum group they'd have to deal with so many variables it'd be impossible!

Getting close now dudes,
Anyone got any suggestions of a meeting point and time for a convoy in to the event?

Here's a suggestion for you all.
Having a quick squint at google maps, there is a nearby retail estate, Rockingham Park, less than a mile from the MITCAR event,
So,
I'll be there, NN17 4AP, at 11.30am to hook up with Johnboy and Co, and we'll leave for the event itself in convoy so we can hopefully get in and at least park together, 12.00pm sharp.
How does that sound?

Gary,
I'll have to pass. I've just calc'd it will cost me £75 in petrol. Normally not a problem but I'm between jobs, etc. no need to bore you with the details. I'm gutted because I have looked forward to this all year.
I hope everyone has a great day and I will aim at attending next year's event.
Steve
