Looking good, very nice. Are the current headlights placeholders? On the mainland Sud QO vehicles were always equipped with white colour glass turning signals, perhaps in the UK this was different?
Keep up the good work.

Alfa_Japan, spot on mate. The car had been crashed and the indicators were incorrect and the headlamp washers were missing too. It also had a plain black grille, which I did replace but am often tempted to reverse. I will be going off piste with the interior too.
Update: today I refitted the headlining, visors, rear view mirror, interior light, grab handles above the doors and the bumpers. Although I have to finish fitting the bolts for the front bumper.

Latest update:
Bumpers back on but will need to be revisited as I used a black restorer
but someone has previously sprayed them so they're patchy.
I did dinitrol the cavities thanks to Frank but of course forgot to do the sills via the holes for the side trim!
Boot, tailgate trim and door cards back in place.
Put the original carpet back in - look fine to me.
Now for the 'challenges:'
Similar to Stesco I removed the seatbelts and for some reason forget to knot the driver's side one!
So I'll be trying the angle trick as per his thread.
Also like the plank I am I removed the handbrake and can't get enough purchase on the cable to get it back into the lever.
might leave this for the mechanic.
(Any pearls of wisdom greatly appreciated here!)
I also found that the proposed rear seat from a 33 has the opposite locking mechanism to the Sud.
What I might do is refit the original seats and get the mechanicals sorted, NCT passed (ROI version of MOT),
then revisit the seats....

That is looking good

and we all have our `plank' moments or worse, so press on your doing well there.
I parked my front wheel on the extension lead last week took two back wheels off and then needed the lead.

I have my own plank moments too.....just yesterday when welding up the 155 I had an extension lead in the boot with all my grinders plugged in. I passed them through the big hole where the boot floor was missing so I could grind inside the wheelarch.
After welding up the boot floor I realised I'd not passed the grinders back through the big hole, which was now welded up!
Luckily the plugs just fitted through the remaining missing bits or I'd have to have cut the wires
Re the cable I have before fitted the cable to the calipers before fitting the caliper to the gearbox, if you see what I mean. Would mean removing one, and the disc/driveshaft coupling of course, but it's a royal PITA to get in otherwise. Heard of cable ties and wire etc being used to feed the cable in. I'd guess removing the pads would help as it will allow the lever arm to move more...

For reattaching the handbrake, I've found unbolting the whole lever mechanism allows you to get the cable connected then with the tensioner completely wound back you can reattach the mechanism to the floor. YMMV.

Thanks for all the input guys-it really does help.
I have decided to refit the original seats for NCT (MOT) after I get the belts and handbrake sorted.
Quick question re the rear pillar badges - specifically the rubber gaskets that they sit on:
Anyone know where I can source both sides? I have the badges and am happy to
re-use but the gaskets have definitely seen better days!

I was really lucky to find mine Rory, actually did a "swapsie" for them. If you do locate any remember they come in long and short versions. These are the long ones.

Cracking on mate, you keep the pace high. The rubber C-pillar badge underlays are available on E-Bay Italy. I've seen them a little over a week ago, if I manage to find the auctions back I'll post them. As mentioned by Sud 145 please note the differences between the short & longs which have to correspond to your logos.

Hi Mufasa, herewith the link to the NOS short ones on E-Bay Italy

I currently can't find the long version anymore, but they're available as well.

Thanks guys.
It's the long ones alright - at least there's light at the end of the tunnel!
Alfa_Japan are you Dutch or an ex-pat in The Netherlands?
Just curious (my mother is Flemish-very similar language to Dutch as you might well know!)
Re keeping the pace high-I'm very compulsive what can I say?

Quick update:
I've got the rear seats, rear seatbelts and the rear parcel shelf in so the back half of the car is almost finished!
I did manage to unreel the DS front seatbelt so it's in place now.
I tried to faff with the handbrake cable reattachment and gave up - I'm going to leave that to the mechanic to refit.
I have a favour to ask any Sud owners, could you please take a photo of the handbrake in place (need to see how it looks with the carpet)
and some up close photos of the front seatbelt anchor points on the floor.
Thanks in advance!

Clearly UK passenger side / left side. You can distinguish by the direction if the slant, it needs to follow the rear window frame.

I thought you said you needed the long type - or was that just me?

I went with the badge type (cross and snake) rather than cloverleaf.
I can check it next time I get out to where the car is.
So if it's the short one it's good news right?
That was the one still available to order?

That's what I thought too, but was going to see next time I get out to the car.

John,
The original badges are the long ones, but the one I bought is a short one.
Do you have the short badge as well (assuming it is a short badge rubber)?
Rory
