evening guys
nice to see some friendly faces (well, imagine the faces....see what i mean...)
hope we can continue with the good start
nice to see new ones too, can't wait to see cols' new sud......
with regard to the avatar size and the multi post thing, we will look into it.
to be honest shrew and me have tried to do the best compromise we can initially, sharing the costs of setting up the forum, buying the web space etc so maybe all the features of some of the other forums that charge we may struggle to match..
we were firm in our commitment from the beginning of our talks last year though that we wouldn't make any charge to members. so the amount of webspace/upload or whatever it's called (can you tell i'm not exactly IT savvy

)

will be maybe a little bit less than others.
must admit though, i'm very pleased that we decided to delay the launch so the pics uploading could be made simpler, which i feel is pretty much the easiest of any car forum i've been on. well done jeff
the multi quote tab i would think will be a relatively easy thing to solve, a work in progress and all.
we are far from the finished article so all these suggestions are very welcome, we will do all we can
kev & shrew

No complaints so far, I'm using my mobile and it works well, I uploaded a photo just now and it was a cinch!
I have a fortnight of night shifts coming up, so I'll attack with a PC soon!

Kev, Shrew,
dont know if this is something thats happening only to me, but ,
1 - If I go to:
www.classicalfaforum.co.uk all I get is a "Coming Soon" page with a certain sketch of a certain Sud

So in order to come on the forum I need to type"/forum" to get redirected
2 - My username and password are required every time, even though I tick the box "Log me in Automatically"
Thats about it

yes for now boys n girls it has to be the current title
www.classicalfaforum.co.uk/forum
eventually, it will all be applied to the much easier
www.classicalfaforum.com
this will open up the pretty picture home page first as the intro, and then lead into the site as you know it now.
we don't particularly need it, but new comers and internet searchers will enjoy site of an awesome boxer alfa at least as their welcome to the new place to be.
when this change takes place i'll announce it in the site news lounge, but for now, stop moaning and get posting on something constructive! ha ha!
JB, still waiting for shots of the new garage / play den!

Shrew,
just a quick question mate....
I dont know if its because I was used to other forums, but is there a way to customize my layout to have the avatar picture of the poster on the left on top of his post, rather than on the right ?
My eyes keep pooping from one side of the screen to the other.
If not, I'll just get used to it

Congratulations Shrew / Kev on getting the forum up and running - looks great and I hope you're both keeping well.
One suggestion which I think would be really nice to have on the site is a dedicated Projects section. This is always my favourite part of any car related forum that I visit. (I know you can add them to the relevant Model's technical section but over time they tend to get lost)
Just an idea and again well done chaps.

Well done to John for posting the link to this site from the Darkside.
Congratulations for setting the site up and let's celebrate a forum for proper enthusiasts. Not a lot of progress on my Sud recently but just converted the front struts to coilovers so will plod on and post some updates soonish.
Cheers,
Adam

cheers guys for all the positive comments.
getting the old feeling back like we used to get elsewhere, but more control (or less, to be accurate.....) is the key.
the boxer section was like one big family, we hope this forum will take off and the whole classic alfa scene will be one bigger happy family

Site looks great, well done Kev and Shrew.
Cheers John for the heads up.
Should be getting the 33 back on the road this year after its short rest

Reckon we could turn it into a race John?

so should have lots of updates.
Look forward to hanging out with you all.
