Currently back in Basel Switzerland on the homeward journey having visited the Alfa museum this morning.
Meet some really nice people once again, the car that followed me into the car park was 75 driven from Norway. He told me he was a little worried as it didn't start this morning but he changed the ignition relay and all was okay. Yes he carried lots of spares. He has a 156 gta but preferred to drive the 75.
Met a few others who clearly were as keen of Alfas as us and in some cases more so as they were regular visitors to the museum. Also it looked like part of the Toro Rosso team were having a look at some proper cars too.
So here goes with a fraction of the pics that I took. Plenty more to come in batches of five, but I don't want to use all the forums upload limit as I have as you would imagine a memory card full from this trip.

Good man! You've captured the important bits - Alfa Carabo, Giulia Montreal Show car (easily the best-looking example of the breed but alas only 2 showcars built) and the venerable 4-cylinder boxer.

Just need the Pininfarina P33 and T33 Iguana to complete the set

Ha ha. I thought of you when I was taking many photos of the carabo including the inside, reminded me of your interior posts.
Brilliant car. And yes I got pics of the tipo 33 and the stradale 33, basically if it had 33 in the description I took a photo of it, sorry many photos of it.
Was also good to look in the show room of all the current cars too.
4D cinema was a bit tame though.

Race car theme. Many many more photos I have but for one I don't want to spoil it for anyone wishing to visit by uploading everything and also not use all of the upload space on the site as I fear with the volume of photos I took I easy could do.
There are just so many beautiful cars.

So that's some quick views of Switzerland on the way back I will sort through my photos and get some better ones posted hopefully later or tomorrow. Today we are looking at getting back to the ferry then driving the early hours in the UK to home.

Have you made a note of the mileage? I also love the Carabo , had a Matchbox one when I was a kid. Alfa bug bit me when I was young

Yes we set the trip meter before we left and being an Alfa I am sure it's very accurate.
Nearly at Calais as I type so not long left now.
Just one small hiccup in that the passenger window regulator has broken just now as we paid the final toll. Draughty night drive in the UK coming up. Now I am sure I packed some duck tape so will try to tape it up at the ferry terminal. he he already getting ready doe the Alfa jokes.
Oh and now it rains.....

All sorted with a bit of masking tape. Got to love Alfas.

A nice touch, putting the tape on the inside. Stops people outside seeing you had a small problem.
Even when Alfas have a hic up, they never let you down.
Yes, got to love them.

That flat-12 boxer engine is a thing of beauty

Credit to you as although there is no reason, lots of people would not take a car that age that far in such a short time.

The Swiss roads look mega, must try harder to get the integrale done so we can do a similar trip

Thank you Sir, to be honest I did have reservations but these cars were made to be driven and drive it we did, and really that's one of the reasons I took on the refurb. Enjoyed every minute of the trip
Total distance for the trip was 1789.2 miles, The car did great.

Wow alot of miles . Glad it went great apart from the window think it's inspired all of us

Many more photos to show you and yes the museum was amazing with basically nothing off limits as most of the cars are free standing on the floor, although I did get told once to step off one of the few plinths. Also as it was a week day there wasn't many people there at all 30-40 max so was easy to look around and spend time at the cars and get un obstructed images.
And yes pleased the window didn't fail until the final leg. Haven't had a chance to look at it yet as we didn't get back until the early hours.
A couple more bits and pieces to tend to too when I get a chance but nothing serious.
And yes hurry up and get the delta done as it would take very little to sort a similar trip. I would even consider going back to the museum at some point.

Thanks John, Window is a minor issue and it wouldn't have been an Alfa road trip without something like that happening I guess, sort of adds to the adventure.
So I take it you will be coming next time. Really enjoyed every minute wouldn't have been the same in a modern car at all.
How's your 33 coming on? Haven't seen any updates lately.

Sadly mines stalled but I'm going start it again now it cooling down as my workshop is an oven in the summer. Next year would be amazing to do a road trip . Fair play to you guys doing it tho
