Hmmm...

Post by AlfaCorseChris »

Been a while, but:

Rear end damage from accident repaired
Rear wheel arch repair panels welded
All rust round the windscreen, outer sills, A pillars etc repaired
Used but excellent and never resprayed rear hatch on
Spoiler courtesy of Jan will go on later on in the process
Front right wing - New
Front left wing - Used but in the best condition I've ever seen (like new)
Doors left and right used but stored by the guy I've bought them from for the past 25 years in a dry warehouse, so in MINT condition.
Front bonnet was changed before the accident, its just gonna get a respray.

Now, I need to get finished on the outside, pack my old stuff and move it away from the shop, so I can make room to remove the engine and strip the interior.

Then, it will be time to prep it for paint ;)

Shrew, I can drive well enough to know the difference mate :)

The Sprint is more of a handful and gives you a bigger satisfaction when you drive it aggressively. Plus its a lot prettier ;)

Anyway, I'm pushing on the Sud now, I'm not giving up on it just yet.
I will give it an honest shot as a standard classic.
If it doesnt feel like a Sprint, I'll just make it 16v and then it will be just as fun as the 1.5 Sprint :p

1.9 pre-cat car so full cream.

is actually in pretty good condition for it's age, dodgy paintjob aside.

at least it won't need much welding!

Nice! Always had a soft spot for the 205 - and they don't seem to rust as fast as their contemporaries, which has got to be a good thing.

But I would have to take the 205 T16 Quasar, if only for the interior - Paul Bracq masterpiece!

For a very brief and shivery moment, my mind confused the mention of the Quasar with my memory of the Quantum kit car!

Thankfully a peak at the pictures soon dismissed that association and reconfirmed my poor state of mental health

Nice car the Quasar, and I'm betting it was rather capable if not potent too lauren?

And a huge hike forward from their earlier 2 and 4 wheeled designs, urgghhh! :|

Haha, no, definitely NOT a Quantum

Yup, should have gone as well as the 205 T16 Group B rally car, same engine and transmission package, in a somewhat sleeker shell...

Quasar was the first in a series of ever more extreme concepts from Peugeot - the second was the Proxima and the final concept was the Oxia. Proxima had a pretty cool dashboard as well, but for the Oxia Peugeot reverted to something rather more conventional (or boring, depending on your point of view).

But yes, definitely liking the 205 3-door shape, best looking hatch of the 1980s I reckon.

Lauren
