Prices still going up??
Prices still going up??
Nice condition, but a 1.7 engine???
If this is worth the money then what's a genuine one now worth?

Re: Prices still going up??
Could be the one that went at auction recently......?
Cliche but it's worth what someone will pay ......risk is that more appear on the market due to strong prices, meaning more choice and lower prices?
Suspect an 8ker will take a while to sell.
If you have one, it's a bit like a house, worth loads as values have risen, but if you sell the house, the only way you benefit from the increase in value is if you then buy a shed to live in.......if you sell your great sud for 8k then you either buy a citreon saxo bean tin on wheels to replace it, or another expensive sud, or nothing at all?
Having said that, it makes saving one more viable / attractive overall, but then if a minter has gone from 3k to 8k, a rust bucket might also go from 1k to 3k meaning the amateur restorer is priced out of the bottom rung (a bit like a first time house buyer).
Tut tut on the 8ker, no cover on the fuse box and scabby bonnet hinges...
Anyhow, I'll get me coat.........

Re: Prices still going up??
Oh, and for 9k I'd also expect a bonnet stay.........
Re: Prices still going up??
I'd like to know how an original p600 tyre passes an Mot, I don't mind the engine, I would want a bonnet stay and everything to work perfectly for that money.

Re: Prices still going up??
Looks nice although at 9K it should be....... .... to be honest I don't think it having a different engine in it would/should effect its value, MK1/MK2 Escorts & 105 Alfas are usually up engined and it has no affect on their values, in some cases it can even put the value up. I would only say that for engines/gearboxes & wheels as they can always be changed back easily, but nothing else, everything else should stay original in my opinion. What matters most is no hidden rot.... which is hard to find.....
........ in more ways than one

If its not cracked and its above the minimum tread depth then I don't see how the tester can fail it, he can put an advisory down for the tyre being old thoughGTV wrote:I'd like to know how an original p600 tyre passes an Mot, I don't mind the engine, I would want a bonnet stay and everything to work perfectly for that money.

....that 9K car is also now on e-bay, I saw it earlier...., it's £5 less on e-bay so he's dropped it a bit
Re: Prices still going up??
Saw it as well. Coughed a bit - my bonnet looks better than that.
Re: Prices still going up??
Lol as if that Sud is worth 8 k seriously more like 4 if it was an original car never been welded or painted the real deal would be worth that and only then all these people can advertise there cars for what they want. 9 k 20 k doesn't mean there all worth that does it

This car has a familiarity about it
remember the red ti for sale by the chavs on ebay with the can of lager on the roof?
i had it in my watch list, and even asked some questions about it, but it was too long ago to find it again, doh!
sneaky suspicion that might have had a 1.7 in it too.
it is just about long enough ago that it could resurface now, having had a wiped arse, valet, and quick telephone mot! ha ha!
purely sceptical of course, no hard evidence, but i'm looking! lol!!
