Footman James

Post by alfadave »

Footman James just increased my renewal premium by 50%. I've been with them 25 yrs plus, and only had one minor claim.

Can anyone recommend another insurer?

I'm with Lancaster - very reasonable and little to no annual increases in the last 4 years.

It can be a bit random I find Dave.

Aviva gave me a very competitive quote for my own car, but worse terms for a multi car with daughters cars included.

Admiral were high for my car, but far lower on multi car with daughters included.

I also used to use Sheila’s Wheels, but they don’t insure under 21 hence went to Admiral when the kids started driving.

Tbh Admiral have been fine, Sheila’s wheels were very good when I had to make a claim.

An admiral quote online takes about 15 mins to fill your details in, Aviva about 10 mins………don’t ring them up, takes about 45 mins based on all the add on crap the call centre goes through.

Hi Dave.
Yeah sadly insurance is fast becoming a major problem for us all. We use various brokers /companies for our fleet.
The main ones are

LVE
Saga
Admiral
The AA

I’ve also used comparison sites like
Quote me happy
Meerkat
Performance Direct
And
Grove and Dean (they used to sponsor the Arca race series one of their guys Andy Hancock raced a 156)
Also It’s become clear that insurance companies don’t value loyalty at all. We
Always compare prices before renewing. And It’s almost always cheaper to take out a fresh policy as new business. Even if it’s that same provider. Just set the new policy to start the evening the old policy expires so you always covered
I’ve never quite understood it.

Crikey Lou, Saga have never given me a good quote and I'm ancient.

I've gone with Adrian Flux.

Miles cheaper, and very efficient to deal with.
