Main bearings 33 16V

Post by 902a »

I´m looking for 16V main bearings for a new race engine. The only bearings I can find are Glyco H1081/3, but they are really poor quality..
Which bearings do you guys use..? Can anybody help..?

Cant remember the name of the company but try a gent called Adie Hardie in the UK on 01384 396769.

He supplies all parts like that. He has got me various 16V gaskets i couldnt get from anywhere else.

This is a problem for all of us now. I have King race bearings, but they are the nord engine versions machined down to fit. I don't have the dimensions, the engine builder does them for me. We change them after about 3 hours track time for a fresh set just as a precaution. The acl race bearings are not available any more.

King seem to have a decent reputation, a lot of high power Japanese car owners use them in the US.

Not sure what Ahm provide, if you call the number above let us know what is available.

We're at the point where a steel crank with some other readily available bearings would be a better long term option.

I use the King bearings for Nord engines as well, but they are for the big ends. KIng has no main bearings for the 16V.
Even if you use a steel crank, you will need the standard main bearings

They are, but just at the big end side..
If they would be machined at the main bearing side, you couldn´t use standard blocks anymore..

Ah yes, sorry I automatically thought about big ends.

I'll ask the person who built my engine what mains he used.
