carpet isn't an orignal S1 ti item though, should be more of a greay/charcoal colour. couldn't find one anywhere.
kieth has a proper one

dials are the early black ones mate, must just show up wrong on the pic. i have some S2 ones somewhere so did wonder if i'd fitted the wrong ones....dralf1965 wrote:Hi Kev
are those blue faced dials I can see? and a later ti steering wheel? Agree, those door cards are a pain in the b*m!
Going to be ready for Mitcar?
interesting point that john.justsuds wrote:re door cards, - was discussing this yesterday with a customer, series 2 door cards are exactly the same when you look at the back of them, - so I wondered if it would be possible to strip the covering off them ( a series 2 door card ) and recover in vinyl a la series 1, - I have some spare series 2 door cards.......

Alfa_Japan wrote:Sorry to hijack this amazing thread a bit, but everybody is dealing with the same problem called door cards. Series 1 & 2 door cards are as rare as hen's teeth and even if you're lucky enough to find something used or NOS they're warped and the rivet rings affected by rust.
On the "other" forum somebody opened a topic regarding reproduction of door cards quite some months ago. Since then no progress I suppose? Would it be an option to combine the needs of Sud owners worldwide and have some series 1 and series 2 door cards base plates made/reproduced in a material that's more warp & damage proof (with stainless steel rivet rings for example)? The upholstery of such base plates will of course be a tedious job, but if the base plates are there in an appropriate quality (one that doesn't warp, tear or otherwise rip) that may be a good start for quite some people.
Everybody is running into this same problem, potentially a combined effort will enable a more or less affordable option somehow?
Keep up the amazing job of restoring this lovely series 1 into its original glory.

Sorry if this is not the correct protocol for commenting on a posting - it is the first time that I have entered a discussion on a forum. I own a Series 1 'Sud TI in the same yellow/beige with blue interior combination, and I would be very interested to swap some pictures.
All the best,

no probs at all, glad you've found usKilroy wrote:Thanks for the welcome and advice on using the site. Someone has already started a relevant post that I will reply to and KevJTD has already commented on - I took my car to a Goodwood Breakfast Club meeting last year (a bit cheeky it was a "hot hatch" meeting!) and Sud 145 kindly posted a picture of it on this site. See "Tasty", posted on 5th October.
Hopefully we can pick up our conversation there.
All the best,
