In one of my boxes i have a Balco track rod end, BRE 1545 but cannot find what it fits nor recall where it came from.

Any idea's anyone ?

Those really fine, 1.25mm pitch by looks of it, point towards a sud one..

I was thinking that Kev. But but I couldn’t find a cross reference for Balco. Suds and 33 are M14 x 1.0

Well that would explain why I have it ! Thanks to you both for your efforts, I will keep it till under the car one day and do a comparison.

Ah, knew they were a fine thread Lou, seems a VERY fine one!
With the information supplied there by Lou it's easy to check the thread matches that TRE.
Easiest way to check diameter is with an open end spanner, a 14mm should in this case be a nice fit, not tight but seem obviously right.
For the 1mm pitch a tape measure can be used if a micrometer isn't at hand. I find it easier to measure across 4 peaks for accuracy. So start at one peak at zero then count along to 4, in this case it would be 4mm. Likewise for a bolt with a 1.25mm pitch then counting 4 peaks would be 5mm. Follows that if 4 peaks measures to 6mm then that means a 1,5mm pitch.
Not relevant to the TRE of course, just an easy way to measure bolt thread sizes, in Metric at least...
Imperial ones are less logical. they are measured in TPI which is Teeth Per Inch....that's a whole new story, sure Lou comes across it more of the MG/Austin stuff although they usually come down to BSF which is British Standard Fine,,,I'm not going into all the different ones like BSW BSC etc,,

Or buy a thread pitch gauge.

Made me remember I had a thread file. Result 1.00mm.
