Replacement engine - No 198A4.000 for my '59 plate Mito 1.4 T-Jet T120. Don't ask it's too sad.

I have a 58 reg 1.4 - 155bhp engine in a written off Mito if that will do ?

Thanks John will have to check because they're different eng numbers. Any idea on mileage?

Electrode came off on cylinder 4 spark plug.

Thanks for your help guys have now sourced one, lower mileage than mine and knocked the seller down £100 - Result.

Weather looks OK Keith.

The saga continues - 2 hair-line cracks in turbo housing. Plus new clutch,waterpump and cambelt kit.......Should be like a new car.

Was your replacement engine bare with no ancillaries or did it come with a turbo?
I can't remember if your original one picked up damage when the engine went pop!
Hope you are back on the road with it soon mate, good luck.

Engine came without Keith but found one that has only done 34K and has no play in it at all. Onwards and upwards.

Result, making progress.

I know, but they are very good for normal stuff as well as development work.
I was very pleased with their work on my jtd when the clutch needed doing, and their price was no more than my local garage would have charged but they knew what they were doing and I got them to run in a few things that came to light while the engine was out.

Update....car is now back home. 2nd hand engine less miles than mine, 2nd hand turbo only done 33K. New clutch,waterpump,belts,oil and filter plus new fluids and aircon regas. Can barely hear the engine on tick-over and drives like a goodun. Many thanks due to Paul Dizazzo at MDZ Italtec.

Great news Tony, sorry you had to go through the pain in the first place, but good to hear you are back on the road with lower mileage on the replacement engine.

Good to hear it's back home, and in seemingly better order than before!
