I have a 1982 Beta Coupe 2000ie
Had a full body resto....arches , cills, strut tops, and a very nice paint job in the original Antibes Blue.
Engine has 216k on the clock, and runs fine.Oil pressure, compressions good.Clutch and cambelt done.
Gearbox good.....no synchro issues.
Nice VX interior.
Calipers all rebuilt,and brakes good.
Refurb Lancia alloys,four good tyres.
MoT to July 2017.
Have been using it as a daily runner this year, and is very reliable.
Will sell for £5000, or swap for a sud in solid running order with MoT

No replies, Dave. Things can be slow around here......

I saw the car before you began the resto and it was nice even then!

Thanks for that Shrew.

No, its not a VX.

The VX interior and supercharger type bonnet were fitted for the resto.

That's good news, I'd like a beta or montecarlo but I'll have to settle for a matchbox version.

Will let the Beta Coupe go for £3500 to a forum member.
Need the garage space now.
If you google "Lancia Beta Coupe Antibes Blue"
you will see an overhead shot of the car with the sunroof open.
Click on that, and the previous owners detailed description of it, on Car and Classic is there.
Only difference is the Piranha alarm has been removed, as it became faulty.
MoT to end of July 2018.

As there is a rusty HPE on Ebay, with no MoT, currently bid over £4k......

My Coupe must be underpriced!

I'd like it but that's not going to happen......

I'd stick it on Car and Classic for £6000

That’s too cheap.

Did you try car and classic ?

I think people might be put off by the 200k plus mileage!

That's ridiculously cheap, even given the mileage and Volumex bits.

I'd have it in a snap if I had a spare £3000; don't suppose you fancy a swap for a 14 year old Subaru do you?

Seriously though, have you put it on the more mainstream sites like Autotrader, the dreaded Ebay, etc? It should make £3k easily I'd have thought given the looks, condition and rarity.

No,I don't fancy loads of phone calls, people not turning up,late night Carlsberg special Ebay bidders.......etc etc.!

Makes sense, and if you add Gumtree to the mix, you'd get lots of shady 'Nigerian Princes' wanting you to turn up to a deserted port at midnight with it...

I'm surprised nobody's biting your hand off for it tbh, the Beta was definitely an iconic car; I remember lusting after the HPE Volumex when I was a teenager, but by the time I could afford to insure one they'd all rotted away...

Car and Classic seems the more civilised (and free!) way to advertise a Classic Car.
I might put it on there.......its actually how I came across it 3 years ago.

Car and classic is good, I sold a W124 Mercedes through there about 3 years ago, but I have noticed you do get a lot of old chaps who phone up seemingly just for a nostalgic chat about cars advertised on there. Very nice, but not ideal if you're short on time.

GLWTS, not that you'll need it, but if you do still have it in 6 months time by some fluke of nature, consider yourself as having a potential buyer here.

agreed, it's a great car, i'd have it too if I could, know that's no help!

car and classic would be a good place to advertise it, along with the Lancia club forum...

If you google
"Lancia Beta Coupe Antibes Blue"
you can read the prev owners comprehensive ad, when I bought it 3 yrs ago.
There is an overhead pic, with the sunroof open.

Put the Beta on Car & Classic on Monday.
Took a deposit on Tuesday!

Seems that no one on here wants a bargain?

Think it's more lack of space / money than lack of desire in most peoples' cases - I used to have posters of a Beta HPE and a BMW 3.0 CSL on my wall (bigger than the pics of slightly suspect pop stars which accompanied them) as a teenager and I've never owned one so it'd have been coming home with me in a flash if I had more of the above...

Still it's gone through car & classic so you can be pretty sure it's going to go to a good home... Did you have lots of old chaps phoning up to nostalgically chat about Betas when you put it on? :)

Good result Dave, it was worth that all day so pleased you hung on and tried car and classic again.
