Nissan Cherry GTI spotted?

Post by markalfa83 »

Technically not a full out right Alfa. I'm not sure whether it was the GTI model or not. It didn't have the scudetto on the front so not an ARNA but it had a boot spoiler similar to the one in the picture attached. Same colour as well. Spotted this on the road outside of Tattershall castle at about 2:30pm today.

have you never seen the tie up between nissan and alfa Chris?

Nissan (datsun) Cherry Europe GTi, was an all japanese hatchback but with an alfa 1500 Ti motor.

Some lower engined version existed too, and also badged as the Alfa Arna.

I know about the, and I've seen some pictures of Arnas. None ever came to Cyprus , thank God.

however, I didnt know there was a GTi version which looked even worst :)

Ive always thought they were a decent car to be honest Chris, and certainly more exciting than the original sohc nissan units even though they were nothing if not reliable.

Shame the Cherry Turbo didn't use a boxer motor, we could have all learnt a trick or two by now i reckon ;)

That's a big coincidence indeed.

Look at the Thread I've just put in the Gallery to see a very nice GTI which came along to Cadwell Park yesterday.

Could of been the same one.

Number plate looks almost the same fro what i can make out, but the left tailgate badge is different.

One has the nissan badge, one has an alfa badge.

possibly a way into discounted branded car meets? lol!

i would, have, in the past, Newark Americana for one!

The picture I used wasn't of the one that I saw. I only used that as reference to the spoiler ;)
