GTV6 MOT tomorrow

Currently SORN and not turned over for a couple of weeks while so I tried to start it today. Battery is flat. I use one of the cut outs on the neg terminal so this is not supposed to happen! Unfair!

It has been charging during the day so I hope it will start tomorrow morning.

Anyway, last time around I had no advisories so fingers crossed....

Wish me luck!

Steve

Just remembered I have got LHD driving lights. I suppose that's going to go against me

unless you can get some RHD stickers fitted before the test...
they create a flat beam pattern which will pass ;)

Insulation tape will do most MOT stations will let you apply it at the station if that's the only thing the car needs being an Alfa and all
That

Interesting! I will ask the guys if they will do this. They are Sud fans and did a good job on the Sprint so I have my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the tip, Simon!

Update.......

Well, poo happens, as they say!

The guys tried to conduct the MOT but when they started the car it would not engage first gear. They pushed it onto a ramp and sure enough the clutch slave cylinder was pissing fluid.

The part will be ordered tomorrow and MOT maybe next week. On thing I definitely will not be doing is taking the car North this weekend as planned! I'm singing the 'No Good Alfa Blues' tonight :(

Steve

*swear filter very active in my first sentence :D

Now for the fun side of Alfa ownership!

A new slave cylinder has been fitted. Clutch is still knackered. I am now getting it trailered to Alex Jupe for a speedy fix.

The car is leaving with me and the wife for Italy on 24th July.........hopefully :(

Update......

I could write a whole bloody book on how my clutch wasn't knackered, how the 1st garage screwed up the fitting of the slave cylinder, how I chose to spend the clutch money on sexy new wheels, tyres and ICE and how I have an MOT and all of the above entirely thanks to Alex Jupe........but I won't.

Instead I will say 'Happy Friday' to everyone here and that I hope to be bringing the red GTV6 up to MITCAR so we can both say hello. I won't be there in a sud because my Son now owns the Sprint and it doesn't look like I'll be in the market for a sud for quite some time! Lol

Happy Friday!
